Version 3.4

This vesion cleans up some problems in the XML/XSLT code and adds some features to the style generating dialog. Also included is a very simple program for checking the open and close tags for tables, rows, cells, spans and divs.

Version 3.2

Version adds some options such as onKeyUp to the list of events in the add action dialog box. When you debug an asp file and you get an error in the preview window, you can select goto from the edit menu and type in the line number. The main window will revert to the code window at the desired line. Whenever goto is selected, on character is highlighted, making it easier to find the desired line. In addition this version has other minor fixes to make the program easier to use. The URL editor keeps a cumulative list of URLs for all windows used during a session.

Version 3.1

Version 3.1 corrects some flaws in version 3.0, adds some tags to the tag list in the style dialog and makes the search and replace dialogs independent of the document windows.

Version 3

Version 3.0 is a major improvement of the underlying support software. Red Edit is now a multiple document interface program, so you may have more than one file open at a given time. Each document has its own browser which based on the Internet Explorer dll which allows the user to see almost any web structure. All other types of editor windows (style, script, etc.) are listed in the window directory. For those who program in asp, it is possible to set paths for your asp and html files so that you view the files in your preview window. This localhost setting is also used if you view a file through one of the browsers in your browser menu. To see the help files for the new version (includes screen dumps) click here .

Red Edit 3 also supports XML programing. The tag dialog automatically is initialized with tags for XSLT or Schema if you are working with one of these types of files. Your XML file can be previewed as translated by XSLT if you install Microsoft XML Core Services 4.0 SP1 . Red Edit also has a simple Visual Basic program, XSLTTrans.exe, packaged with it, that compiles XML with XSLT or Schema and gives line number feedback for errors. The XML help provided with the Microsoft XML Core Services is extremely good!
