| Code highlighting is a new feature of Red Edit in version 2.5. It allows you to set the background, text and code colors using a color dialog. The dialog that is used in this command is simialar to the dialogs used to set the colors of the page and highlight text. The only difference is the preview window showing the effect of the new color scheme. Color changes remain in effect until you change them .

| The refresh colors menu item restores the code coloring after you have pasted or done other editing that has disturbed the code coloring. | |
Hide|Show The Special Character Pallet displays or hides the special character pallet. If you need a character that is not on the keyboard or need white space (nbsp) or want to display < or > without causing the browser to think you have created a new tag, you simply place the cursor where you want your character, select text to be replaced (if any) by the special character and press the square with that chacter in the pallet. The pallet can be minimized, but can not be maximized, only restored.
